About 2Families

A co-parenting communication platform by Manhattin Inc.

What 2Families is

2Families is a communication platform built for separated and divorced parents who share custody of their children. It replaces scattered text threads, forwarded emails and screenshots with one shared space: conversations organized by topic, a calendar both households can see, and a record of what was agreed. The product is operated by Manhattin Inc., a company established in the Province of Quebec, Canada. 2Families is available as a web application and as a native iOS app on the App Store, in English, French and Spanish. The Android app is in review and will follow shortly.

Who it is for

  • Co-parents who need day-to-day coordination — pickups, drop-offs, school events, medical appointments — without renegotiating every message.
  • Parents in high-conflict situations who want conversations kept on topic and on the record.
  • Family mediators, parenting coordinators and lawyers who are invited into a specific conversation rather than given the whole account.
  • Extended family and caregivers who need visibility into the schedule without access to private discussions.

What it does

Topic-based conversations

Every discussion lives in its own thread — school, health, activities, expenses — so a decision about a dentist appointment is not buried under an argument about a weekend swap. Messages are searchable, and conversations can be exported.

Shared calendar and custody schedule

Both parents see the same calendar: the custody rotation, holidays, appointments and activities. Recurring patterns, holiday overrides and conflict detection keep the schedule honest, and it can be synced or exported to the calendar you already use.

Documents and agreements

Court agreements, school forms and receipts can be stored alongside the conversations they relate to, so the paperwork is in the same place as the discussion about it.

Mediators and AI-assisted mediation

A mediator can be invited into a single conversation with their own account and their own access boundary. On premium plans, AI-assisted mediation suggests ways to keep an exchange constructive and summarizes what has actually been agreed.

How we handle your data

Family data is sensitive, and the product is built on that assumption. Conversations, calendars and documents are readable only by the members of your family space and by anyone you explicitly invite, such as a mediator. Access is enforced at the database level, not only in the interface. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your conversations to advertise to you. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is collected, how long it is kept, and how to request a copy or a deletion.
